Vietjet to open direct route between HCM City, China’s Xi'an
Budget carrier Vietjet will open a direct route between Ho Chi Minh City and Xi'an, the capital of China’s Shaanxi province, from April 29 with four return flights per week.
The new route will help shorten the distance and travel time between Ho Chi Minh City-Viet Nam's leading economic engine and the heritage city of Xi'an.
The flights will depart from Ho Chi Minh City to Xi'an on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 20:05 (local time), and land in Xi'an Xianyang International Airport at 01:30 the following day (local time).
The return flights from Xi'an to Ho Chi Minh City take off on every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 02:30 (local time), and land in Ho Chi Minh City at 06:25 (local time).
The General Statistics Office (GSO) reported that during January-March, around 890,000 visitors from China travelled to Viet Nam, a year-on-year increase of 19 percent.

Searches from China to Viet Nam almost entirely recovered to pre-pandemic levels during the recent Lunar New Year (Tet) period, with 2024 interest at 95 percent of 2020's, the Lunar New Year period that immediately preceded the COVID-19 travel restrictions, according to Agoda./.
