On the afternoon of August 13, at the Provincial Party Committee headquarters, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, received He Wei, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Vietnam, and a delegation from the Chinese Embassy during their working visit to Bac Ninh Province.

Also attending the meeting were Mr. Mai Son, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from the Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments, agencies and local enterprises.
Welcoming Ambassador He Wei and the delegation, Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai expressed his appreciation for the Ambassador and the Chinese Embassy's continued support and close cooperation with Bac Ninh Province.

Briefing the delegation on the province's socio-economic development, the Provincial Party Secretary said Bac Ninh is strengthening its position as a regional hub for industry and high technology. In the first six months of 2026, the province's economy expanded by 10.56%, while export turnover reached nearly USD 70 billion, placing Bac Ninh among the country's top-performing localities. Covering an area of approximately 4,700 square kilometers and home to nearly four million people, the province has substantial potential for further development in industry, urbanization, services and infrastructure.
The Secretary emphasized that attracting investment, particularly high-tech projects, remains a key driver of the province's development. China currently ranks first in the number of investment projects in Bac Ninh, with more than 600 projects, but third in terms of total registered capital, indicating significant potential for expanding bilateral investment cooperation.

The province hopes to attract more Chinese enterprises with strong technological capabilities and financial resources to invest in sectors such as semiconductors, electronics, information technology and the digital economy, while promoting technology transfer and deeper integration into global value chains. Bac Ninh remains committed to further streamlining administrative procedures, improving its investment mechanisms and creating the most favorable conditions for businesses. The Provincial Party Secretary also expressed his hope that the Chinese Embassy would continue serving as a bridge to promote Bac Ninh's investment environment to Chinese investors.
He also highlighted the importance of transport infrastructure in strengthening bilateral cooperation, noting that the province is preparing conditions for the development of the Nanning (China) – Lang Son – Bac Ninh railway. Beyond economic cooperation, Bac Ninh also hopes to expand collaboration in culture, national defense and people-to-people exchanges, contributing to the further development of the Vietnam–China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador He Wei expressed his admiration for Bac Ninh's remarkable socio-economic achievements and highly appreciated the province's investment and business environment, as well as the strong support provided by provincial leaders to the business community, including Chinese enterprises.
The Ambassador commended the province's innovative mindset and strong determination to promote development, expressing confidence that Bac Ninh would capitalize on its strengths to become a model for Vietnam–China economic cooperation and achieve its goal of becoming a centrally governed city in the near future.
Affirming the Chinese Embassy's readiness to continue supporting the province, Ambassador He Wei said the Embassy would facilitate Chinese enterprises in exploring and expanding investment opportunities in Bac Ninh, particularly in high technology, manufacturing, supply chains and business connectivity, thereby contributing to stronger Vietnam–China economic and trade cooperation.
