Deputy Secretary Tran Huy Phuong attends handover of Great Solidarity House to disadvantaged family in Yen Phong commune

The leaders perform the ceremony of unveiling the plaque and handing over the Solidarity House to Ms. Bui Thi Lien.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Tran Huy Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of the Provincial Public Security and Yen Phong Commune, as well as local officials and residents.

Ms. Bui Thi Lien, 85, had previously lived with her son, who suffered a workplace accident, in a severely deteriorated 40-square-meter house. The family mainly depended on elderly assistance and small-scale livestock farming and could not afford to build a new home.

Following a proposal from the Yen Phong Commune Fatherland Front Committee, the provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Economic Police Division agreed to provide full funding for the construction of a new house. The 51-square-meter house, together with a 36-square-meter yard and garden, cost VND 267.7 million, funded by the provincial “For the Poor” Fund, the provincial budget, the Economic Police Division and the Yen Phong Commune “For the Poor” Fund. Local agencies, organizations and residents also contributed VND 28 million worth of essential household equipment.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary Tran Huy Phuong congratulated Ms. Lien's family on receiving a spacious and sturdy new home, emphasizing that the project reflects not only material support but also the care and solidarity of the Party, State, authorities, Fatherland Front organizations and the wider community for disadvantaged families.

He expressed hope that the new home would give the family greater motivation and confidence to stabilize their lives and gradually overcome difficulties. He also asked local authorities to continue supporting Ms. Lien's family and other poor and disadvantaged households in accessing social welfare policies.

The Deputy Secretary acknowledged and thanked Fatherland Front organizations at all levels, the police force, businesses, benefactors and local residents for their contributions to supporting disadvantaged people, while calling for continued mobilization of social resources to effectively implement social welfare programs and build a more prosperous and humane Bac Ninh.

Following the ceremony, provincial and commune leaders held a plaque-installation ceremony and officially handed over the Great Solidarity House to Ms. Bui Thi Lien's family./.
