Bac Ninh promotes formation of semiconductor industrial ecosystem

On the morning of September 9, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thinh attended a meeting of the Interim Executive Committee of the Bac Ninh Semiconductor Association. The meeting was attended by representatives from provincial departments, agencies, and businesses operating in the semiconductor sector.

The establishment of the Provincial Semiconductor Association is expected to serve as a focal point connecting regulatory bodies, enterprises, training institutions, research institutes, and experts. It aims to foster collaboration, high-quality workforce training, research and innovation, technology transfer, and investment promotion, while facilitating deeper integration into the global semiconductor value chain.

At the meeting, businesses emphasized the necessity of the Association's establishment. They also proposed that the province focus on developing technical human resources, ensuring a stable power supply, providing support regarding tax policies and incentives for component imports, and strengthening linkages between enterprises and training institutions.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh affirmed that the development of the semiconductor industry is an inevitable trend. Bac Ninh possesses significant advantages in infrastructure, human resources, and higher education systems, creating a solid foundation for attracting high-tech projects. The province will continue to support businesses, focusing on the development of supporting industries, services, and interconnected enterprises to gradually build a complete semiconductor supply chain and ecosystem, while also promoting sectors such as AI, smart manufacturing, and automation.

The Vice Chairman urged the Association to effectively serve as a bridge between businesses and the provincial government, promptly consolidating challenges and recommendations, and actively promoting business connections, workforce training, investment attraction, research, and technology transfer. The province also pledged to continue investing in and upgrading the power infrastructure to ensure a stable, high-quality electricity supply for industrial production. On this occasion, the interim Executive Committee of the Bac Ninh Semiconductor Association was inaugurated, comprising 20 members.
