Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong attends 25th anniversary of Co-opBank Bac Ninh

On the morning of August 19, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee Ngo Tan Phuong attended and congratulated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Cooperative Bank – Bac Ninh Branch (Co-opBank Bac Ninh), which was established on August 15, 2001.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed Co-opBank Bac Ninh’s 25-year journey of establishment and development. The branch originated from the Bac Ninh Branch of the Regional Credit Fund, established in August 1998, and officially adopted the name Co-opBank Bac Ninh on July 1, 2013.
Starting with 10 employees and initial capital of VND 11 billion, as of December 31, 2025, the branch’s total capital had reached VND 4.828 trillion, representing an average annual growth rate of 19.14%. It currently operates three transaction offices and provides capital support and liquidity regulation for 26-member People’s Credit Funds, serving more than 12,000 members, mainly in agricultural and rural areas.

In 2025, outstanding loans to businesses and individuals reached VND 4.301 trillion, with loans supporting agriculture and rural development accounting for 67.8%. The branch posted a profit of VND 73 billion, while non-salary revenue and expenditure reached VND 100.2 billion, equivalent to 105% of the annual target, placing the branch in the “Special” category across the banking system.
Co-opBank Bac Ninh has also accelerated digital transformation, introducing a range of products and services, including Co-opBank Mobile Banking, Co-opBank NAPAS chip cards, Co-opSmart and the PRMS system. These initiatives have contributed to improving service quality and supporting the operations of the People’s Credit Fund system.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong acknowledged and praised the contributions made by generations of Co-opBank Bac Ninh officials and employees over the past 25 years, noting their important contribution to the province’s socio-economic development. He emphasized the branch’s role in regulating capital flows and ensuring liquidity for the People’s Credit Fund system, bringing formal financial resources to individuals, households and cooperatives, and helping curb illegal lending.
In the new period, the Vice Chairman asked Co-opBank Bac Ninh to further promote its role as a focal point in coordinating and leading the restructuring of the People’s Credit Fund system; strengthen governance and risk management capacity; ensure operational safety; and safeguard the legitimate interests of depositors, members and customers.

The branch was also urged to continue developing appropriate credit products to facilitate access to formal financing at reasonable costs for individuals, household businesses, cooperatives, small and medium-sized enterprises, workers and employees. At the same time, it should accelerate digital transformation, develop digital banking and cashless payment services, and support People’s Credit Funds in enhancing their technological capabilities.
The Vice Chairman affirmed that the province would continue to pay close attention to and create favorable conditions for the stable, safe and effective operations of Co-opBank and the People’s Credit Fund system. He expressed his confidence that Co-opBank Bac Ninh would continue to innovate and stand alongside residents, businesses and cooperatives, making positive contributions to local socio-economic development and social welfare.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong presented Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee to the Vietnam Cooperative Bank – Bac Ninh Branch and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh, former Director of Co-opBank Bac Ninh and Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Cooperative Bank, in recognition of their outstanding achievements in building and developing the Bac Ninh branch.

On this occasion, the Co-opBank Bac Ninh received an Emulation Flag from the State Bank of Vietnam in recognition of its outstanding achievements in the banking sector’s emulation movement. The branch was also honored by the Vietnam Cooperative Bank on the occasion of its 25th anniversary of establishment and development.
