Delegation of Ministry of Construction surveys and appraises proposal to recognize Bac Ninh as Grade-I Urban Area

According to the provincial Department of Construction, Bac Ninh currently has 25 urban areas, including three Grade-II urban areas and 22 Grade-III urban areas. The province meets 12 out of 15 Grade-I urban area criteria, creating a basis for consideration of recognition and contributing to the province's roadmap toward becoming a centrally governed city.

At the working session, the delegation requested Bac Ninh to further review and unify data on population, natural area, urbanization rate and per capita income; supplement explanations for unmet criteria; and complete the legal documents and electronic dossier. The province was also asked to improve urban infrastructure, wastewater treatment, green spaces and healthcare facilities.

Concluding the survey, Tran Quoc Thai urged Bac Ninh to urgently finalize the dossier for the establishment of a centrally governed city, ensuring quality, accuracy and compliance with the appraisal requirements.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thinh thanked the delegation for its constructive feedback and affirmed that Bac Ninh would promptly review and complete the dossier, mobilizing resources to ensure the highest quality and required progress.

The delegation conduct an on-site survey at the Thang Long Bac Ninh Waste-to-Energy Plant.

The delegation also conducted field surveys at several key projects and urban areas, including the special national relic of Do Temple, Manh Duc Urban Area, Bac Ninh Water Plant, Thang Long Bac Ninh Waste-to-Energy Plant and Danko Da Mai Urban Area.
